“For a while, it scared me to not have just one distinctive style, but I want to stay honest and boundary-less with what direction I can go. Drawing is meditative in the sense that it’s part of my routine and I need it to stay sane.”, says Pat Perry, a Michigan based artist and illustrator, about his artistic approach.
A look at any of his works, reveals a fascinating existence where the natural seems on a direct collision course with the urban. A world where people and wildlife are silhouetted and filled with rich, textured stories of dreamlike memories. The detail in Perry’s fine artwork and illustrations is amazing, and according to the artist, an outcome of many of his “most personal, complicated, and contemplative thoughts”.
