The Albanian painter, illustrator and cartoonist Agim Sulaj, first started working in the political and satirical magazine “Hosteni”, producing illustrations and caricatures. At the same time, he was developing the skill of hyperrealistic painting.
Agim Sulaj presented his artworks at his first individual exhibition in the National Gallery in Tirana in 1986. In 1994 he moved to Italy and settled in the city of Rimini. Currently is working as a freelance artist – painter, illustrator and cartoonist.
His artworks appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines in Albania, Italy and abroad. Famous are also his posters. He participated at numerous international cartoon competitions and was awarded more than 70 prestigious prizes. His works of art are in permanent collections of several museums and galleries in Europe and USA, as well as in private collections. He is living and working in Rimini, Italy.
