Jasmin Moghbeli, NASA’s Newest Astronaut Recruit

An American – Iranian Cobra pilot Jasmin Moghbeli has been selected by NASA to join the 2017 Astronaut Candidate Class. The New York native earned a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering with Information Technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School.

The 12 astronaut candidates were selected from more than 18,300 applicants, a record number.
